Catellani & Smith

Catellani & Smith
Since 1989, the traditional Italian company Catellani & Smith has been creating lamps of all kinds by hand. Designer Enzo Catellani is inspired by a wide variety of things, such as the moon, to which he devotes himself with devotion and attention to detail in his Stchu-Moon collection series. In addition, the company does not shy away from small political allusions, for example, they designed a lamp that they named "Kuweit 91", alluding to the second Gulf War in 1991. Religious symbols also find their way into the collections - embodied by the impressive candle holder "Kyrie Eleyson". Despite all the allusions, the design of Catellani & Smith combines elegance with style and, despite its touching simplicity, is of outstanding design.
A classic of Italians and typical in design is the "Fil de Fer", a light ball made of many aluminium threads, which illuminates several halogen lamps from the inside. The light creates an almost enchanted atmosphere and delights every observer. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the luminaires is not neglected either. By developing the Eco-Logic-Light, Catellani & Smith have succeeded in combining environmental friendliness and sustainability with a unique design technique to create beautiful, effective lamps. In 2017, the Fil de Fer by Catellani & Smith was recognized by a court in Turin as an intellectual work worthy of copyright protection. Surprising at the beginning, consolidated today. This is the synthesis of the success of Catellani & Smith. Always lived with modesty, as a commitment to our customers. The creations of Catellani and Smith please, worldwide.
