Steng

The enthusiasm for technical systems, the fascination with the "medium of electricity", the constant examination of the possibilities of this technology and the resulting realisation of the perspectives of this technology were the reason for Carl Steng to found a company for light and electrical engineering in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt in 1911. This was at a time when gas lamps were still common in most households. After the complete destruction of the Second World War and the death of his father, his son Hans led the company through the difficult phase of reconstruction until 1973. In 1973, Peter Steng, the grandson of the company founder, took over the management in the third generation. In the best tradition of "Swabian tinkerers", he became a protagonist of the then novel low-voltage technology. Over the years, the development of new systems and a penchant for sophisticated design led to a respectable collection of lamps that were honoured with national and international awards. With the entry of Andreas Steng into the management in 1997 and his participation in the company in 2004, the fourth generation is now actively integrated in the company. Following the retirement of Peter Steng in 2014 and the participation of Torsten Alberts in 2017, Andreas Steng as Managing Director and Torsten Alberts as Authorised Signatory are now jointly at the helm of the company. The STENG company represents more than 100 years of tradition on the one hand, and a diverse, innovative and modern product range on the other. The large number of national and international design awards as well as the cooperation with renowned designers and architects reflect the innovative strength and flexibility of the company to adapt to new technologies and market requirements. We offer the right solution for every requirement and situation, whether for high-quality, private furnishing needs or for professional applications in the contract sector. The fact that tradition and progress are not mutually exclusive is part of the self-image of today's STENG LICHT GmbH - not least due to the fact that STENG lamps are almost exclusively manufactured in Germany. With the high demand for best quality and craftsmanship.
